Prima Guide Preview

Official Prima Guide

The Official Burnout Paradise guide has just been updated over at Prima Games, allowing for you to download a preview from the full guide, due out the same day as Burnout Paradise. From the preview I've extracted some cool bits of information for you to browse over below. To see the guide for yourself check out the Prima Games Website.

Burnout Paradise Round-up

  • 248 Events
  • 350 Online Freeburn Challenges
  • 60 Paradise Awards (for PlayStation 3) or 50 Achievements (Xbox 360)

  • 35 Drivethrus
    • 11 Auto Repair Shops
    • 14 Gas Stations
    • 5 Paint Shops
    • 5 Junkyards

  • 120 Billboards
  • 50 Super Jumps
  • 400 Smashes
  • 11 Parking Structures
Speed-Class
The best vehicles for racing. The boost of speed-class cars can only be used when you've filled up the boost meter. It is also the only class of car which allows you to boost chain (Burnout)

Aggression-Class
The best type of car to use for taking you opponents down. The boosting system is simple; earn boost by bullying other cars. Unlike speed class cars, aggression cars can use boost anytime.

Stunt-Class
According to Prima, these are the best multi-purpose cars. Earn boost by preforming stunts (eg: barrel rolls, flat spins, jumps.) The boost you earn can be used anytime. Those of you familiar with the demo, the Hunter Cavalry is a stunt class car.

Whilst we're on the subject of game guides, Operation Burnout is looking for people willing to help write our own Paradise guide which will be available for everyone to view, for free, here at Operation Burnout.
If you want to help, in any way possible, drop me a personal message at the forums or email me at Cooper@OperationBurnout.com for further details.

Road Rules are the fastest time on each road or the highest Showtime score.
I didn't think these were the same as events or linked to progression, but I could be wrong.

What are Road Rules?

Cooper on 13 January 2008 09:31am

I knida wondered about that too. I think Prima are including road rules as events.
Quote from the guide:
"The majority of your progression is spent
completing seven different types of events:
Races, Road Rages, Marked Man Events, Burning
Routes, Stunt Runs, Time Road Rules, and
Showtime Road Rules."

Where are Prima getting the 248 events figure from?
I'm pretty sure there are only 120 events in Paradise City. Other then that I hope the rest of it is accurate.
