Burnout Paradise Coming to PC in January 2009

Burnout Paradise for the PC was announced a while ago but has taken a backseat to the updates which brings bikes and a new island into the game.

We finally now have some additional news regarding the PC version of Burnout Paradise, including a release date. At GC 2008, EA set up a booth to show off the game. Gamespot had this to say about what they saw.
The PC setup at the EA booth was magnificent, with three monitors being fed simultaneously using a box from manufacturer Matrox. While the images from the side monitors were slightly stretched, the added viewing angle really made it easier to take down enemies. The PC version will also support the same camera functionality as console versions, meaning you'll be able to use any USB webcam to capture images for your licenses and online takedowns. As for other PC features, the development team claims that it might tweak the single-player progression slightly, but it still has to finalise the details.

GameSpot also confirm that Burnout Paradise should be coming to PC in January 2009. System requirements are yet unknown. As soon as we know them we'll post them here at Operation Burnout. In the meantime check out the new screenshots of the PC version above and below.

What controller would be the best for this game

I would love to have this for PC because I have a 512MB GDDR3 NVidia Graphics card, a 3GHz each dual-core processor, and 2GB RAM in dual-channel mode.

I would prefer a pad, such as the Microsoft XBox360 Controller for Windows for this game because the keyboard arrow keys are way too fiddly for racing games (trust me, I've tried a keyboard with games like Race Driver GRID, but it didn't work out).

I am really looking forward to the release in January 2009, and I hope someone gets it for me on my 16th Birthday (it's in January as well!) ;)

Does anyone know what the minimum system requirements are for it? I have a Toshiba Portege M405 with 128 vram and its Win XP with DX9.

Great news!

Geeawd...reading that reminded me that January will mark one year since Burnout Paradise came out.

Its been that long, eh? Would be an interesting first anniversary to buy its PC counterpart and start all over from the beginning.

@chen:
1. You are right, graphics CAN be better on High-End-Machines
2. You gotta be kidding->
Keyboard > Controller??? No way sir!
Strategy/FPS in combination with a mouse perfect but Action/JnR/Racing should be controlled with a pad (okay Racing Games should be played with a Driving Wheel, but Pad >>>>> Keyboard for racing)

Hey, I can comment on the front page! I never noticed this.

Anyway, ahem. Anyone else think they'll mark this the end of 'The Year of Paradise'?

I'm so glad that Burnout Paradise is finally coming out for PC. I personally think graphics are better for PC (esp. when u have a high grade video card) and with a keyboard, you have more controls and a less need to remember combination controls that a console controller might have.

It makes me wonder what the game will be like, it is the 1st Burnout to reach the PC, too bad it's not coming out in time for Christmas, though I'm doubtless that sales will be high when it does come out.
