Burnout 3 Car Guide - Sports Series
Compact Series | Muscle Series | Coupe Series | Sports Series | Super Series | Special Series | Heavyweights
It's best to think of the sports and mini supers. They're the cars with the fast speeds and exelent handling. With all this, the cars are well worth the time it takes to unlock.
Sports Type 1

A terrible start to what is a very good series. The car drifts off on its own and crashes into a wall quite often at the slightest tap of the directional buttons or analog. The speed however is a vast improvement from anything in the coupe series.
Top Speed: 185mph
When Avaliable: Unlocking the Sports Series
Weight: 1
Overall: Better off using another car
Colours: Blue/White/Red
Rating: 4/10
Sports Type 2

Ever wondered what driving on ice feels like? Well this car must be what it feels like. Keeping control is not imposable but it’s a challenge and not a fun one. The car is nothing special when it comes to drifting or takedowns. Best to stick to Type 3.
Top Speed: 185mph
When Avaliable: Unlocking the Sports Series
Weight: 1
Overall: Feels like driving on ice, control is minimal
Colours: White/Red/Blue
Rating: 4/10
Sports Type 3

One of the best “Type” cars in the game. It’s agile, fast and hard. Somewhat of a gangster of the road. It has a good chance of being taken down though as after being whacked the car can, sometime, loose control. Drifting is good but nothing outstanding.
Top Speed: 185mph
When Avaliable: Unlocking the Sports Series
Weight: 1
Overall: Best type car
Colours: Blue/Red/Black
Rating: 7/10
Tuned Sports

This car is work nobody’s time. The steering is horrible, with the slightest nudge from, or, on a rival will cause you to imprint the cars badge into a wall. The rest of the car is impossible to assess. Despite several races this car is imposable to drive.
Top Speed: 187mph
When Avaliable: Win Continental Run Race 2
Weight: 1
Overall: Yes it really is that bad
Colours: Red/Blue/White
Rating: 0/10
Modified Sports

A brilliant car...for drag racing. I do not kid when I say this car is unresponsive, It is genuinely hard to turn to a point where you end up scraping through corners on the wall. Nevertheless it is good for those long straights as long as a corner is non-existent .
Top Speed: 185mph
When Avaliable: Win Continental Run Face-Off 2
Weight: 3
Overall: Very stubborn when turning
Colours: Blue/Red/White
Rating: 2/10
Custom Sports

The car feels incredibly fast and the handling, unlike the previous two cars, is responsive to the extreme and perfect for those tight corners. The car lacks the ability to take opponents down but makes up for it with the amount of punishment it can take before being forced to look at a wall
Top Speed: 185mph
When Avaliable: Win 100,000 Burnout points
Weight: 1
Overall: A nice fast car
Colours: Black/White/Blue
Rating: 5/10
Assassin Sports

As always the best car for taking opponents down in this series. However to my surprise it can be taken down very easily making it awful to drive during a road rage even. Drifts like a god, handles like a saint, a brilliant car for racing as long as the action doesn’t get too heated.
Top Speed: 186mph
When Avaliable: Win 25 Gold Medals
Weight: 1
Overall: A good all round car but easy to takedown
Colours: Red/Blue/White
Rating: 7/10
Sports Prototype

I’m fond of the prototypes but this is somewhat of the let down of all prototypes. Although the car is good it doesn’t live up to it predecessors. The Sports Prototype happens to be an average car, with good handling and drifting. It lacks the skill of the takedown.
Top Speed: 185mph
When Avaliable: Win Frozen Peak Face-Off 2
Weight: 1
Overall: Not the best prototype
Colours: Black/Red/Blue
Rating: 7/10
Sports DX

I lovely car, brilliant at takedowns and possibly the best drifter in the entire game. The car would be perfect if it wasn’t for one tiny thing...Its attitude. The handling is to sensitive on the straights and if you treat him mean he will t-bone a wall with no regard to anything.
Top Speed: 185mph
When Avaliable: Win 25 Gold Medals
Weight: 1
Overall: A little better then the Prototype
Colours: Black/Blue/Red
Rating: 9/10
Dominator Sports

People who think the last car is going to be the best needs their head checked. The car has nothing special to offer and is completely average in every way. It is the fastest in the series so if you are having trouble with a race, use this car and you should be sorted.
Top Speed: 190mph
When Avaliable: Win Alpine Face-Off
Weight: 1
Overall: Great for racing, avoid battleing
Colours: Black and Orange
Rating: 8/10
