Burnout 3 Car Guide - Compact Series
Compact Series | Muscle Series | Coupe Series | Sports Series | Super Series | Special Series | Heavyweights
Welcome to the Compact Zone. Compact cars are great for learning in but when it comes to racing, they're better of left alone. The compact series, like most of the other series, consists of 10 cars ranging in speed, weight, handling and other thinks.
Compact Type 1

The First car available to drive. It's a great starter car but its weight is a huge problem. If you try hard enough it is possible to crash by flipping the car whilst turning a corner (with a little help from a rival) It drifts okay, but it's not the best. The low speed makes it perfect for learning but try to avoid using it when you race.
Top Speed: 160mph
When Available: From the start
Weight: 1
Overall: More of a learning car then a racer.
Colours: Red/Blue/Black
Rating: 2/10
Compact Type 2

The Type 2 is no better then the type 1. It feels heavy to drive although the weight is minimal. It handles like a heavy car which works as an advantage when takingdown opponents but makes the whole experience of driving it slow and boring. The biggest letdown is the steering; being so restricted so best keep away learners
Top Speed: 160mph
When Available: From the start
Weight: 2
Overall: Bad; Just takedowns at slow speeds.
Colours: Blue/White/Red
Rating: 1/10
Compact Type 3

This is the best car to start with. It handles well and takedowns are easy to acquire. The weight of the car is good and there is no need to worry about being shunted around the track. It isn't any faster then the other two but getting to the top speed it easier
Top Speed: 160mph
When Available: From the start
Weight: 2
Overall: The Perfect learning Car.
Colours: Black/Red/Blue
Rating: 2/10
Tuned Compact

This is such a brilliant car in the compact series. It's fun to drive and handles well… until things get pushy. The weight is a major problem and if you enter a road rage event in this car you will be shunted abound like a hockey puck . If you can handle the shoves and want some low speed, high takedown race, use this car.
Top Speed: 160mph
When Available: Gold in Downtown Race 1
Weight: 1
Overall: Enjoy this without stressing for control
Colours: White/Black/Blue
Rating: 4/10
Modified Compact

The letdown with this car is the handling. It is atrocious to say the least. When turning corners the car either turns too much or not enough often relating to you crashing. It's ability to takedown other cars however is good but nowhere near makes up for the problems of steering.
Top Speed: 160mph
When Available: Win the Waterfront Face off
Weight: 2
Overall: Handling is awful, avoid like the plague
Colours: Red/Black/White
Rating: 1/10
Custom Compact

Somewhat of an average car. The handling isn't the best but I will do for racing if there is no other alterative. The custom compact is similar the modified compact as it sometimes reacts the same when turning corners. Another disadvantage of this car is its weight, it is very light and venerable to crashing because of it.
Top Speed: 160mph
When Available: Win 10,000 burnout points
Weight: 1
Overall: This car has nothing special to offer
Colours: Red/Blue/Black
Rating: 2/10
Assassin Compact

Takedowns are easy with this car hence the name “assassin”. The steering isn't too bad but the drifts are hard to handle. The single most annoying thing though is the noise of the engine, it sounds like a moped with nitrous attached.
Top Speed: 160mph
When Available: Get 15 total takedowns
Weight: 2
Overall: Brilliant for takedowns
Colours: Red/Black/Blue
Rating: 3/10
Compact Prototype

Amazing car perfect for the preparation for going up to the muscle series. The car is slow when you have no boost but is faster then all the previous compacts when you inject the nitrous. Handles very nicely and drifts comfortably
Top Speed: 163mph
When Available: Win Lakeside getaway face-off 1
Weight: 2
Overall: A great all-round car
Colours: Blue/Red/Black
Rating: 6/10
Compact DX

Once again another nice car. The DX feels faster then the prototype but offers the same great drive. The car seems strong and sturdy to take a lot of beatings from rivals.
Top Speed: 163mph
When Available: 4 gold medals
Weight: 2
Overall: Much like the Prototype; A great car
Colours: Black/Blue/Red
Rating: 6/10
Dominator Compact

The final and fastest car in the compact series is not necessarily the best. The car is just a faster version of the modified compact; a very poor car. However the speed and weight are better so it makes up in that field
Top Speed: 164mph
When Available: Win Kings of the road face off
Weight: 2
Overall: Speed rich, handles poor
Colours: Black and Orange
Rating: 4/10
