  1. Professor Follett's - Island Tour Challenge

    Posted 16 Jun 2009

This was posted on the Criterion Site today.

    Island Tour Challenge

With the release of Big Surf Island we introduced a new type of event - Island Tours. These are a series of checkpoints positioned to show off some of the cool locations and biggest jumps on the Island.

They are also against the clock, which is why the Professor is setting a new challenge based on his favourite Island Tour - Tour Of Duty - found in the centre of Midtown it includes a very handy shortcut towards the Lighthouse.

So jump in your favourite off-road-race-car and set a fast time today. The rest of the Burnout Team are on the Island now and will also be setting some times. Sarge Sullivan has been using his personalised Olympus Governor to smash traffic out of his way to great effect. What car will you use?

Just send in proof - a picture or video - to mailbag@criteriongames.com and we will post the results in a future story.
  2. BSI Rants and Whines Thread

    Posted 11 Jun 2009

Well I figured there would be plenty of people getting themselves all worked up today and chucking there toys out the pram etc etc.

So why not just keep it all in here, and make the day easier for our under appreciated Admins  who can just lock and delete 1 thread at the end of the day instead of 17.

Take some advise from this guy and try to enjoy your island :db:

  3. The Official OB Guitarist Thread.

    Posted 30 May 2009

It came to my attention yesterday in another thread how many of us on here have a 2nd similar hobby / obsession to BP.

This thread is simply for all the guitar players here on OB to get our "guitar-geek" chat going :)

Post pics of your music gear, post any clips you've recorded, how long you've played, guitarists / albums you recommend etc or just talk crap that will bore the ass off everyone else here like the incomprehensible difference in tone between using gauge 011 strings rather that 010's LOL.

    Well there it is. :)
  4. More Criterion News

    Posted 29 May 2009

Criterion posted some very important news earlier, it seems to have been overlooked. :db:

A big Happy Birthday today to Wayne (DBC9MX) Utley - Burnout's biggest fan!

Wayne's such an enthusiast, he's even had a hand in creating a little piece of the forthcoming Big Surf Island.

He entered a competition when we started building the island to name a location there. You can see the result - "Taylor J Towers" - in a massive unveiling of the island on our latest Crash TV video podcast.

Check it out at criteriongames.com, our You Tube channel - burnoutteamrocks - or subscribe to Crash TV on iTunes.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUDE.

U had better pass on all the remaining jedi knowledge before you get too old to remember them, my master :smartass:

  5. Criterion COP CAR ROAD RAGE Comp

    Posted 20 May 2009

Man these guys are really trying to keep us busy arn't they  ?

Professor Follett wants to find out which player can score the most Takedowns in a single Road Rage event using a Cop Car. Remember all of the new Cop Cars can be used to play offline as well as in the new online Freeburn Game Cops and Robbers. So pick your favourite Cop Car, drive up to a junction which has a Road Rage event and spin your wheels.

To reach some really big scores you are first going to have played enough Road Rages so that the Target starts as high as possible (this is currently 40).

If you can score a Takedown quicker than once every 10 seconds, when you do reach the Target you will have more than the 2 minutes you started with.

Send in proof of your best scores with the Cop Car you were driving to mailbag@criteriongames.com with the subject Cop Car - Road Rage and we will call out the best players in a future News Story.

C'mon lets keep making them have to reference us OB members in there posts :yabbas:
