Haven't been on these forums in ages cos it is dead. But just letting you guys know that Criterion has returned for winter/summer (depends where you are lol).

yes i thing they are back but its too late i thing burnout is dead the most ppl that u now meet in open games are only assholes ranking server point system is close and i thing when they bring some dlcs its only other toys like toy EHR and add a new raijin that u can drive offline

It looks like they've just been really busy then woke up and remembered that they still have a pre existing good game out there on the market, that people lost a bit of interest in.
The news story looks a little rushed or something, it's in a different font, features no pictures, sorta like they copied it from notepad.
The only line of note in there to look at is "Of course, getting up at 4AM to go shopping is not exactly our idea of fun, unless we're releasing a new game!!" but we learnt before reading too much into what they post usually leads you down the wrong path.
Possibly just reminding us they exist in anticipation of building up hype for a certain future release.

It's pretty simple -- they want people who might be considering BP for Christmas (or who get a new console for Christmas and post-Christmas want to see what's out there to buy) to see a site that isn't dead. If they look like they've abandoned BP, then people will be less likely to buy a copy if they don't have one already. If it affects just a dozen people, the marketing time has paid for itself.
Now if I'm wrong and they are preparing new content...awesome! But I wouldn't bet on it.
