General Update

Hello there everyone, it's been a long time since I've written anything for Operation Burnout as I've been very busy with other things and just don't have the time anymore. In the quite time before Easter, I've decided to spend a little time bringing you up to date with what's going on with the world of Burnout Paradise and Operation Burnout.

Playstation 3 Downloadable Content Offer

First off, an offer for those who haven't taken the plunge for the DLC available for Burnout Paradise. Available until March 31st, Criterion are selling all the downloadable content for Paradise for a mere $19.99/£15.99/€19.99. The pack includes every bit of DLC for Paradise:

Big Surf Island

Party Pack - Details

Time Savers - (Unlocks all cars)

Legendary Cars Collection - Details

Toys Collection - Details

Cops and Robbers - Details

Boost Specials - Details

If you've yet to purchase the game you can get it now, with all the content for the lower price of $29.99 / £23.99 / €29.99

Paradise is Dead

Back in January Criterion announced through their Twitter Feed that no more DLC will be coming to Burnout Paradise. Development for the game, which was announced way back in August 2006(!), has finally come to an end. 4 years of Burnout Paradise, it's time to turn off the ignition.

What's next for the Burnout franchise? Who knows? EA games have confirmed Burnout 6 as a project which they are producing, however, details on exactly what the "sixth" Burnout will be are non-existent. It could be a soft-sequel (Like Burnout Dominator), a full sequel, different platform game. Your guess is as good as mine. Feel free to speculate in the new "Future Burnout" forum.

Operation Burnout Still Alive

Finally, expect Operation Burnout to go a little quite until a new Burnout is announced. This doesn't mean the site has been abandoned though! Be sure to hang out in the forums and check the main site until then.

Cops & Robbers Released

The long awaited Version 1.8 update for Burnout Paradise has been released. The update includes many game fixes and will give PS3 & Xbox 360 users the ability to purchase the Cops & Robbers pack.

The Update is 176MB and may be obtained by starting Burnout Paradise while signed in to The Playstation Network of Xbox Live. The update is free of charge, but access to the Cops & Robbers pack is not.

According to Criterion, the following issues have been addressed with the Version 1.8 update:

GT Nighthawk PlayStation 3 Trophy

Something that only became apparent once the Legendary Cars went live is that if you already had the 2x Boost Chain Trophy it was impossible to get the GT Nighthawk one. We're pleased to say this is now fixed and everyone will be able to earn this Trophy once the update goes live tomorrow.

Game freezing on the start line of an online ranked race
We had a number of reports about this though we have had difficulty reproducing it in-house. However, we did find one possible issue which we have now fixed and we very much hope this fixes the issue some players have been reporting. We're monitoring the situation and will make improvements where we can.

Not being able to select purchased vehicles in the Junkyard
In the majority of cases we found the cause of this was that people had purchased the vehicles but not downloaded AND installed them.Correctly downloading and installing the vehicles fixed the issue. However there was a rare bug seen with a handful of customers who achieved their Elite license during a specific period of time last year which meant that some of the vehicles had indeed disappeared. We have now fixed this issue and that fix appears in the new update.

Smashes and billboards resetting after playing the Party Mode
This was a problem that occasionally happened when you started a Party then re-entered Paradise City.

They weren't actually reset. When you restarted the game everything was back to normal. However, it was annoying and we are pleased to say it has now been fixed.

As reported earlier, the prices for the Cops & Robbers Pack are as follows:
£7.99 in the UK.
€9.99 in Europe.
$9.99 in the US.
800 MS points on Xbox 360.
